HEMLATA BARUAH (born 1928) dedicated her life to a women’s organization called the Tezpur Mahila Samiti where she worked from 1954 to 2014. She is responsible for keeping a strong link with the rural mahila samities  and federating them with the Tezpur District Mahila Samiti to pursue weaving projects.
