APARNA MAHANTA KAMRUP was involved with the women’s movement as an academic and as a grassroots activist in the 1980s. She was a member and office-bearer of national and state women’s organizations like the Mahila Samakhya and the India Association of Women’s Studies. She continues to be a researcher and writer on women’s issues in English and Assamese.
