Domestic Violence

As per section 498(A) of India Penal Code, cruel behaviour with a married woman by her husband or any of his relatives is a heinous crime.

Beating her and making her starve are physical cruelty/torture.

Scolding her, teasing her and insulting her are mental torture.

The affected woman or any of her relatives can file a complaint against such behaviour.

The accused will get 3 years jail with fine for his/her cruel behaviour.
