{"id":493,"date":"2011-02-22T01:45:28","date_gmt":"2011-02-22T08:45:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.posterwomen.org\/?p=493"},"modified":"2011-07-08T14:59:18","modified_gmt":"2011-07-08T09:29:18","slug":"sexual-harassment-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.posterwomen.org\/?p=493","title":{"rendered":"sexual harassment-2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Source<\/strong>: Task Force on Women and Violence<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>: Bhubaneswar, Orissa<\/p>\n<p><strong>Language<\/strong>: Oriya<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translation<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>As per the article 14,15 and 21 of Indian constitution,\u00a0the Protection of Human Rights Act 1993 and\u00a0articles 11 and 22-24 of Convention on\u00a0Elimination of All Forms Discrimination against Women.<\/p>\n<p>Sexual harassment in work place is a crime.<\/p>\n<p>The instructions given by Honourable Supreme Court on 13 August 1997 are applicable here.<\/p>\n<p>What is work place ?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every government and non-government institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Hospitals<\/li>\n<li>University<\/li>\n<li>Non formal Institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructions given by Supreme Court defines as below :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Physical contact and advances which is not acceptable.<\/li>\n<li>A demand or request for sexual favours<\/li>\n<li>Sexual remarks<\/li>\n<li>Sharing Pornography<\/li>\n<li>Any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you or any one whom you know, are victim of sexually harassment, then-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You should lodge your complain before the higher authority or before your\u00a0employing authority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As per the instruction of the honourable Suprem   Court, the authority\u00a0 is forced to accept your complain and to take action.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You should take help and support from your friends and colleagues.<\/li>\n<li> Don\u2019t blame yourself and report unnecessarily.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t avoid the problem.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a Chronology of such harassment incidents in written.<\/li>\n<li> If you feel essential, take help of other institutions and organizations working for\u00a0women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Work place should be safe for women.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: Task Force on Women and Violence Location: Bhubaneswar, Orissa Language: Oriya Translation: As per the article 14,15 and 21 of Indian constitution,\u00a0the Protection of Human Rights Act 1993 and\u00a0articles 11 and 22-24 of Convention on\u00a0Elimination of All Forms Discrimination against Women.
