Although the Poster Women project had very clear and specific goals, as it unfolded, we found things that prodded us/led us to move in other related but somewhat different directions. Over the years that we have been involved with this project, many groups have not only made posters available to us, but have offered us a whole range of other things from your personal collections – photographs, documents, letters, manifestoes, pamphlets, stickers, etc. We’ve been wondering what to do with these and we thought that we could put them together to create a pilot on a Women’s History Archive which would attempt to provide a digital resource on women’s histories and their lives in India. If this experiment is successful, we would then explore the option of taking it further and doing a it on a larger scale.
