Is Curing Illeness through Religious Faith a Superstition?

We Do Not Think So

Being persecuted by ghosts or possessed by a spirit is not a superstition, neither is it an illness. It is a means adopted by society to understand and cope with mental illness or misfortune.

Being ‘possessed by a spirit’ results in certain physiological  and emotional changes. This results in a person ‘feeling better’.

Places of religious pilgrimage, where illnesses are cured, are a source of support for society.  People with mental troubles or pain come here out of faith.

Persons suffering from mental illness can visit such places where illnesses are cured by faith, without shame and express their feelings.
